Clark County approves major street name change to Liberace Avenue

In a meeting of the Clark County Planning Commission, the name of a major thoroughfare in Las Vegas was approved for name change, from Karen Avenue to Liberace Avenue.

In a two-part street name change, Karen Avenue from Paradise Road to Maryland Parkway will become Liberace Avenue, permanently remembering the iconic star in the city he helped to put on the map. The effort has been spearheaded by County Commissioners Tick Segerblom and Ross Miller, working for several years with the Liberace Foundation.

  1. This has been a long overdue honor for Liberace and for us fans and supporters of the legacy he left behind. Bravo to the Foundation, all the fans that wrote letters and signed petitions. I so hope I get to attend the dedication! Jonathan?

  2. You unfortunately made a big mistake. The street name change was approved only from Joe W Brown to Maryland Pkwy. After official meetings in mid 2023 it remains Karen Ave from Joe W Brown to Paradise.
